Electric Guitars

Collecting guitars and amps was never something I planned on doing. Actually this all started with an 8X10 manila envelope I found in my parents attic years after I had gotten married and moved to Florida. In this envelope was all the Fender and Gibson brochures and paraphernalia I had brought home from music stores when I was a kid,  probably 30 or 40 pieces total. Well I took that stack of cool stuff back with me to Florida and enjoyed looking at those old pictures now and again.
Then one eventful day a pastor in Kansas gave me an old Fender Jazzmaster and a Twin Reverb amp, (part of the offering), and I soon re-discovered  the sounds of my youth. Boy did I have fun with that rig. Later I even formed an instrumental guitar band that played all the old Venture's  and Surf songs. In fact I have recorded a   CD-R of that band.... The Delreys ....anyway...back to the envelope of stuff...

To make a long adventure short I found that there were some serious collectors in this world  that were willing to trade real guitars and amps for pictures of guitars and amps. Well after a little thought I figured we could do some trading. I  then started enjoying all those neat guitars and amps I was never able to own as a kid. There was about 10 years back in Florida it just seemed like I was in the right place at the right time, and this stuff just fell in my lap.  I haven't done much trading in the last 8 or 9 years, it seems like the whole scene has changed.

I hope you enjoy looking at these beautiful, interesting and historic instruments. Some have passed on by now, either traded, sold or given away, but they all are being played and that's why God made them.

I got a new Gretsch.. I love it...             Sherry got a new Danelectro.. She loves it too...

GIBSON
1962 ES 355*
This is the one most special guitar I've ever owned. It has a long story that goes with it. from the day I bought it in 1965 untill this very day. (almost 40 years later) Thank you Ronn.
1959 ES 345*
The Gibson 345, in my humble opinion, is the best blues guitar in the world. End of story.
In fact the only amp s worthy of this instrument is a Fender Blackface Super Reverb.
1980 ES 335 Dot RI*
This is my son Rocky's 335.
I don't think he would trade it for any thing.
In this Statocaster world we live in it sure blesses my soul to hear the sweet sustaining sounds of a  Gibson.
1967 Barney Kessel*
I've never found another Kessel to compare with this one. This guitar practically plays it self.
I can set for hours with this guitar on my lap. The tones are incredible and it's feel is superb.

1964 Jazzmaster
This is your basic meat and potatoes Jazzmaster.
1962 Jazzmaster
I like this older Jazzmaster because of the unique sunburst.

San Francisco 1968
This was a very cool Gibson that you don't see many of these days. I'm not sure of the model.. I guess I could look
it up but if it matters that much then
 you probably already know...
(I think it is an ES-295)

Wichita 1965
I thought I'd put in a pic of my old Epiphone Rivera. I traded my Fender Jaguar for this guitar and traded this Epiphone  for a red Gibson 355.

Denver 1965
This is the Gibson 355 with
a Bigsby Vibrato. I later took this guitar to Gibson in Kalamazoo and had them put on a trapeze tailpiece and a Rock Green name plate.
